No Kabbalistic, Chassidic or Brisker Torah. No pshetlach, vertlach, pilpul or drush. No dikduk, mechkar, parshanut or apologetics either. Just reading the Torah with an ear for what the Parsha and Moadim are saying to you and me today.
i love the torah pic! where did you find it!?
ReplyDeleteI like how the words of Torah are blurry in some areas, and then come into sharp focus - a good metaphor for your blog!!
ReplyDeleteIt is part of a photo I found on istockphoto.com. Paid two dollars for it. A special thanks goes to Illana Wachs for her help!
ReplyDeleteBarry- I appreciate your comment. I also like the attention given to the spaces between the lines.
"blurry in some areas" - ouch. that's harsh, barry.
ReplyDeletealmost as harsh as r. gordon spelling my name wrong. I-L-A-N-A. that one needed a little more obsessing, i think. but thanks for the shout out, regardless. :)
Ilana-
ReplyDeleteI think you're making a mistake. Barry meant it as a compliment. Right, Barry?
Sorry about the spelling.
Of course I meant it complimentary! I was suggesting that concepts or ideas in Torah that are difficult to understand at first glance, are perceived with greater clarity as a result of the insights brought forth on this blog.
ReplyDeletegreat picture well worth the money!
